Join Vincent on his terrace brings Terrace of a Café at Night to life. The world-famous painting is on tour in Japan until September 2026. In the meantime you can experience the café terrace in a unique way at the museum. Take a photo of yourself in the painting and discover how visitors make their own versions of this work.
Step into the painting
For the first time in 20 years, Terrace of a Café at Night is on tour. The painting is on loan for a major Van Gogh exhibition in Japan. The work is not currently on display at the Kröller-Müller Museum; here, you can experience the painting in a different way. At the museum, you enter a specially designed space that perfectly captures the atmosphere of Terrace of a Café at Night. Take a seat on the Place du Forum and take a photo of yourself in Van Gogh’s painting.
